MegaBabe Katie Sturino Shares Her Favorite Beauty, Skin, and Medical Aesthetics Destinations In NYC

Katie Sturin

Last month, curve fashion blogger and MegaBabe® brand founder, Katie Sturino, made a major decision. She took to her Instagram and shared with her (as of press time) 232,000 followers why she started getting injectable wrinkle reducer treatments at age 28. Now in her thirties, she continues to keep to her appointments, getting wrinkle reducers no sooner than every three months. Some of her fans questioned why someone who was so dedicated to a message of body positivity would choose to alter her appearance, but Sturino had the perfect response.

“My point is that [it’s] everyone’s choice what they do and do not do,” she explains. “The younger followers who are following women all over the net who are getting [injectable wrinkle reducers], nose jobs, lip injections and more and then wondering ‘why don’t I look like that’ is more bothersome to me than getting some [injections] and being honest about it to my followers.”

Editor's Note

Injectable wrinkle reducers are used to temporarily smooth the look of moderate to severe wrinkles in certain areas of the face such as the forehead, frown lines, and crow’s feet. They should not be used more frequently than every three months. Like any medical treatment, they have potential risks and side effects. Be sure to talk to a licensed provider to see if they’re right for you.

For Sturino, body positivity is making decisions that are right for you. “No women in the public eye are very transparent about all the effort they put in to look a certain way, and I think it's irresponsible,” she tells Spotlyte. “I received mixed feedback, as some said it wasn't body pos.”

The entrepreneur disagrees with those naysayers. “To me, body pos is doing whatever you want not beating yourself up over it,” she explains. Other things that make the MegaBabe boss feel good include yoga, Netflix, Gabby Bernstein meditations, face masks, and walking her dogs.

In addition to giving us some insight on what it would be like to spend a night of self-care at home with Katie Sturino (which, by the way, sounds amazing), she also shared some of her favorite places to treat herself in New York City — scroll through for her top picks.
