Spotlyte on Breast Cancer Awareness Month: 7 Products That Give Back

We’re selective about the formulas we use on our hair, skin, and nails. The Spotlyte 7TM; highlights recently-released and/or noteworthy products you can add to your makeup bag, one day at a time. Let’s go shopping.

As October marches on, you’ll probably notice plenty of pink ribbons peppered across beauty shelves, on storefronts, and pinned to shirts. Of course, these little rosy ribbons are the official symbol of breast cancer awareness; and for the past 34 years, October has served as National Breast Cancer Awareness month. This month-long designation has not only raised potentially life-saving awareness for the disease, but it has also led to healthcare resources for millions of people affected by it. (To date, breast cancer is the most common cancer affecting women in the world.)

To find ways to get involved in the fight against breast cancer, head over to the National Breast Cancer Foundation, Inc.® website — additionally, consider shopping pink this month. Below, we’ve rounded up seven gorgeous beauty products that give back — including luxurious face oil and luscious lip balm — to get you started. Plus, we’ve included exactly how much of the proceeds will go to a good cause.

The luxurious texture and rich, floral scent of MILÈO NEW YORK® La Rose de Joell Elixir Oud ($125) evoke that stop-and-smell-the-flowers feeling — one that forces you to inhale deeply with each application. Sensorial experience is central to the skincare brand, which harnesses the power of oud. This oil also relies on resveratrol, rose, and peony to leave even the most sensitive skin glowing.

Donation details: During the month of October, all proceeds from purchases of this product will be donated to the Wilmot Cancer Institute℠.

The heart-shaped IT Cosmetics® Love Beauty Fully® Love is the FoundationTM; Brush ($30) is equal parts adorable and functional. The bristles are chinchilla-soft — so soft, in fact, you might be surprised to learn that they’re actually synthetic. We love that the brush’s bristles are extremely densely packed, making this tool an excellent pick for pairing with liquid or powder foundation.

Donation details: With every purchase, IT Cosmetics will donate one brush to Look Good Feel Better® — an organization dedicated to inspiring confidence through beauty.

The little pink sponge you know and love is now available in limited-edition packaging. The cylindrical vessel on the Beautyblender® BCA version ($20) features a gorgeous smattering of glitter overlayed with a pink ribbon.

Donation details: The brand will donate $20,000, regardless of how many are sold, to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation.

Think of La Mer® The Treatment Lotion ($110) like a lightweight, hydrating booster for subsequent products. With an infusion of the brand’s miracle broth and a skin-quenching finish, it’s no wonder that this is one of the brand’s top sellers. If you’ve been debating whether to splurge on skincare, consider this pink ribbon-emblazoned, travel-sized version your sign.

Donation details: 20 percent of proceeds will go to The Breast Cancer Research Foundation®, with a maximum donation of $53,000.

Estée Lauder® has gussied up one of its cult classic serums with a gleaming metallic exterior. The Advanced Night Repair® ($100) formula is spiked with antioxidants, squalane, and hyaluronic acid for skin that looks and feels significantly softer over time. In honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, this limited edition rendition also includes a beautiful charm bracelet ($100).

Donation details: 20 percent of proceeds will go to The Breast Cancer Research Foundation.

With dry lip season looming, allow us to introduce you to your new favorite lip balm. Rodin Olio Lusso® Luxury Lip Balm ($36) is infused with shea butter and neroli oil, which leave even the roughest lips feeling supple. We’re fond of the slight tint, which leaves lips with a subtle wash of vibrancy.

Donation details: 100 percent of proceeds will go towards The Breast Cancer Research Foundation through 6/30/20, with a maximum donation of $10,000.

Traditionally, setting powders and dry skin types have not gotten along. The BECCA® Hydra-Mist Set & Refresh Powder ($39), however, is made with fifty percent water and glycerin, making it decidedly unlike other products in the category. The result: budge-proof foundation without signs of caking or flaking

Donation details: 20 percent of proceeds will go towards The Breast Cancer Research Foundation through 6/30/20.
