Influencer Nicole Annette Smith Talks Lip Filler, Microneedling, and More Go-To Treatments

Nicole Annette Smith isn’t your typical influencer. Sure, she has 154,000 Instagram® followers , but the 42-year-old @lipsandlattes creator and physician’s assistant at HēBē™ Skin Health didn’t galavant around in heels and set out to amass a fanbase. She was simply exploring a potential marketing tool while sipping her everyday morning latte.

“I first created an Instagram [page], and it was just a lot of selfies and pictures of me,” said Smith, who initially posted to the account in 2016. “I thought that really wasn't the direction I wanted to go. I wanted it to be more of a business page.”

These days, within the collection of static posts, you won’t find photos of her 17, 10, and 7-year-old children, or the bootcamp class she attends. Instead, Smith keeps her photos consistent, with images and clips showing clients getting treated with the Black Out™ Laser Peel, vampire facials, and more. Although there aren’t many coffee cups, either, the latte fanatic has become so dedicated to content showcasing treatments that even celebrities like Tori Spelling follow her on the popular app.

You don’t have to be famous in Hollywood to be privy to her beauty, skincare, and medical aesthetics secrets, though! Read on to find out 11 ways Smith takes care of her skin and overall appearance:

House of Lashes® Pixie Mini™ ($12): “I like them because they don't look too overbearing. They just look really natural on the eyes. It doesn't look like you're wearing lashes. I wear them probably two to three days a week when I'm feeling like getting glam.”

Fillers: “I get it in my cheeks and lips. This is for someone who's seeing signs of volume loss in the face. It gives [lips] just a little plumpness. I started about five years ago. ”

[Editor’s note: Injectable filler is a temporary treatment that adds volume to areas of the face such as the lips, cheeks, and laugh lines. Like any medical treatment, it has potential risks and side effects. Be sure to talk to a licensed provider to see if it’s right for you. Have more questions? Benefit® Cosmetics Precisely, My Brow Pencil® ($24): “I like it because you can do brush strokes with it. It's not just a powdered brow pencil — it's good for defining the brow.”

Injectable Wrinkle Reducer: “I get it in my forehead, frown lines, and crow's feet. When you're injecting those areas, you get an improvement [in the look] of lines and wrinkles. I have been getting injectable wrinkle reducers [in my frown lines] for about 13 years.”

[Editor’s note: Injectable wrinkle reducers are used to temporarily smooth the look of moderate to severe wrinkles in certain areas of the face such as the forehead, frown lines, and crow’s feet. They should not be used more frequently than every three months. Like any medical treatment, they have potential risks and side effects. NARS® Cosmetics Blush in Orgasm ($30): “I like this because it's pink with a shimmer of gold in it.”

Microneedling: “It makes little tiny pin holes in the skin that [promote] the production of new collagen and elastin. It gives you a really pretty glow and brightens your skin. It's great for [upcoming] parties or events. I do it once a month.”

[Editor’s note: As always, talk to your doctor before starting any new treatment.]

Colorescience® Sunforgettable® Total Protection Brush-on Shield SPF 50 ($65): “You can apply it on your skin after you have makeup on. Since you have to reapply sunscreen every two hours, this is great when you're on the go and you already have a full face of makeup. I just throw it in my bag, in my beach bag, or in my purse, and it's nice to just have for my kids if we're somewhere, like at the park. I can just powder them up with sunscreen.”

Hebe Skin Health Gentle Bubbly Foaming Cleanser ($37): “It’s our brand’s cleanser. It’s gentle, bubbly and foaming.”

Lancome® L’Absolu-Gloss™ in Beige Muse ($25): “It's a tan with a touch of glitter in it. It's shiny and you can wear it with any outfit.”

Schwarzkopf® Got2b® Glued Blasting Freeze Spray ($4): “It's a big yellow container. It's the best hairspray, and I use a Hot Tools® curling iron and a crimper. I'll crimp my hair underneath for volume at the base of my hair, and then I use the Hot Tools wand on top.”

NARS All Day Luminous™ Weightless Foundation ($49):  “It has great coverage and it's super lightweight.”
